“Guntars Dzērve, agronomist at Augusta zemenes: “Many years ago, when I was working in America, I was envious of the way they organised events on their farms. They have Harvest Festivals, tastings and Field Days, etc. At that time I thought, if I ever have my own farm, I will organise something like this. Last year we started and this year for the second year we will continue to celebrate Easter and welcome spring.”

- Did you know that Mālpils roasts delicious coffee? Rolands Osis, the “Coffee Dwarf”, will also be there to tell you about the secrets of delicious coffee. “I roast coffee and share the secrets of roasting and brewing, so that coffee is even tastier and we are all a little happier,” says Rolands.
- From 14.00 to 15.30, a tour of the happy horses of #Augustastallis… For an hour and a half, we will tell fascinating stories about horses, reveal many secrets about horses and answer all your questions. Of course, you will also be able to have a heart-to-heart with our stable heroes.
Visitors will be able to visit a unique greenhouse in the tower
“Right outside the gate, a peculiar tower shines – like a water tower, if it wasn’t all in glass and full of flowers. It is a tower greenhouse, the only one of its kind in Latvia,” Imants Ziedonis once wrote. 70. in the late 1980s, the Mālpils horticulture became famous not only in Latvia, but throughout the Soviet Union, because agronomist Juris Grollis designed and built a 22-metre-tall tower or vertical greenhouse. The so-called Grollis Tower became one of the main attractions in Latvia. Today, the tower has been partially restored by the agronomist’s son, Raimonds Grollis, who will open the doors of the greenhouse to the public this Saturday.
Two free masterclasses on frigo strawberry plants and angel plant cultivation
From 11.00 to 11.40, a free masterclass “How to grow strawberries wisely using frigo strawberry plants?” by Guntars Dzērves, agronomist at Augusta Strawberries From 12.00 to 12.40, Renārs Korulis, collector of angeltauruses (Brugmansia), offers a free masterclass “The story of angeltauruses. Secrets of breeding”. You will be able to buy plants of different varieties of cannas, pelargoniums and angeltaurs.
The Coffee Gnome will reveal the secrets of coffee
The coffee roastery “Kafijas Rūķis” has opened in Mālpils and its owner Rolands Osis will talk about the secrets of delicious coffee on Saturday. “I always seem to feel a little happier and more cheerful, both when drinking coffee and when learning the nuances of coffee making. And so are the people I make it for. I roast coffee and share the secrets of roasting and brewing to make coffee even tastier and us all a little happier,” says Roland.
Horse tour, egg-rolling slalom course and swings
Thanks to the Baloži family from Mālpils (Baložu māja), visitors will have the opportunity to use the egg-rolling slalom course. Raimonds Grollis promises to cook delicious soup and let you swing on the swings. In the afternoon (from 14.00 to 15.30), there will be a tour to the horses, where the horse owner Iveta will tell fascinating stories about horses for an hour and a half, revealing many secrets and stereotypes about these big, beautiful and clever animals.
Visitors are invited to make a donation in exchange for a story and a journey into the world of horses. “Iveta Dzērve, owner of Augusta stallis: “We see it as our mission to educate the public about horses. “We want to be a part of our mission to educate people about the horse, by informing, showing, telling and helping people to get to know the true essence of the horse.”
