Delivery terms

Instructions for receiving seedlings

This instruction helps preserve the quality of the plants. Plants are living material; therefore, time and temperature after delivery are decisive.

Before the order is dispatched

• Check that the telephone number and e-mail address in the order are correct (for communication by the courier/parcel locker operator).
• Choose a delivery method and a location where you can collect the order in due time (parcel locker/courier).
• Plan so that on the delivery day you are able to collect the shipment immediately (do not leave it “until tomorrow”, if possible).
• Prepare a place for short-term storage (cool, dark, ventilated) if planting is not possible immediately.

When you receive the delivery notification

• If it is a parcel locker: plan to collect it the same day.
• If it is a courier: ensure that at the specified time you are reachable and able to receive the shipment.

At the time of receipt

  1. Check the packaging
    • Is the box/bag torn, wet, or obviously crushed?
    • If there is visible damage: photograph the packaging before opening.
  2. Open the shipment immediately
    • Do not leave the shipment in a car, in the sun, or in a warm room “for a moment”.
    • Place the plants in the shade and in a cool place.
  3. Record if there is a problem
    • Photograph the plants and the packaging.
    • Contact us in writing: info@augustazemenes.lv (state the order number + photos + a short description).

What to do with frigo strawberry plants after receipt?

Frigo plants are in dormancy and require a proper “transition” regime.
• Best option: plant within the same 24 hours.
• If planting is not possible immediately:
o keep the plants in a cool place for a short time, without opening them or by closing them so that the roots do not dry out;
o do not allow the plants to warm up (especially above +10…+15°C for a prolonged period);
o do not refreeze them in a household freezer (the temperature and regime may irreversibly damage plant quality).
• Before planting (if the roots are drier):
o the roots may be gently moistened or briefly rehydrated (e.g., 15–30 minutes), but prolonged soaking is not permitted.

What to do with rooted plants

• Do not leave pots/rooted plants in heat or in a draught.
• Check moisture – the substrate must be slightly moist.

If you will not be able to collect or receive the shipment in due time

• Plant quality can deteriorate very quickly. If you see that you will not be able to receive the shipment in due time, it is better to reschedule delivery in advance (if the carrier permits this) or contact us.
